Amsterdam UMC developed two mouse models for Vanishing White Matter (VWM). These mice harbor VWM genetic mutations, which result in a clinical and pathological phenotype similar to human VWM patients. These mice are used in several pre-clinical studies, to gain an understanding of the disease in humans, and to test treatment options for VWM.
The independent contract research organization Sylics now offers unique services for (industry) collaborations using these mouse models, in collaboration with the Industry Alliance Office of Amsterdam UMC.
